Bridgestone Escapes Doc Requests In Child Labor Suit

Law360, New York (May 4, 2010, 1:42 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has nixed a bid by Liberian workers to compel documents from Bridgestone Corp. related to work force and payroll statistics in a suit accusing the tire manufacturer of forced child labor at a rubber plant in Liberia.

The requests relate to the plaintiffs' proposed unjust enrichment allegation and cannot be granted until that amended allegation is approved, according to an order Friday from Magistrate Judge Jane Magnus-Stinson of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
