KitchenAid Wins Dismissal Of $6M Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (May 4, 2010, 3:42 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has shot down the $6 million antitrust suit accusing Whirlpool Corp. unit KitchenAid of steering retailers away from an aftermarket appliance add-on, finding the complaint inadequate.

Pourfect Products, which makes an add-on to KitchenAid's mixers, has not adequately alleged that KitchenAid had market power, that the KitchenAid mixers at issue constitute a market or that KitchenAid has harmed competition, Judge G. Murray Snow of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona said Monday.
