SEC Names Agency Insider To New Legal Policy Role

Law360, New York (May 4, 2010, 12:42 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has promoted agency veteran Richard A. Levine to a newly created position in the legal policy unit of the Office of the General Counsel.

As associate general counsel for legal policy, Levine will advise the SEC on legal and policy issues, particularly related to enforcement, corporate disclosure and accounting, the regulator said Monday.

"We are enhancing senior level capabilities to provide enforcement and regulatory advice to the commission,” a SEC spokesman told Law360.
