SEC Investigating Berkshire, BNSF Deal

Law360, New York (May 6, 2010, 10:56 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is reportedly probing disclosures made by Berkshire Hathaway Inc. during its approximately $30 billion acquisition of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp.

The commission has been investigating whether the company controlled by billionaire investor Warren Buffett informed other BNSF shareholders about plans to purchase the rest of company, the Wall Street Journal reported late Tuesday.
