Teva Sues Generic Zoloft Rivals

Law360, New York (January 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Israeli generic drug maker Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd. has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Andrx Corp. and other rivals, accusing the group of jumping the gun in their plans to launch generic versions of Pfizer Inc.’s blockbuster depression drug Zoloft.

Teva, currently the only company allowed to sell generic Zoloft in the United States, has the exclusive right to do so through the middle of March, according to the suit. But Teva believes the defendants are under the mistaken impression that its exclusivity period expires...
