DNA Patent In Monsanto Suit Upheld On Re-Exam

Law360, New York (May 10, 2010, 3:12 PM ET) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has upheld Genetic Technologies Ltd.'s patent for noncoding DNA technologies, giving more firepower to the Australian company's patent infringement suit against Monsanto Inc., Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc. and a slew of rival laboratories.

The patent office upheld all the claims without amendment in a re-examination action over U.S. Patent Number 5,612,179, GTG said Monday in a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
