NBC, Others Sued Over Search Engine Registration IP

Law360, New York (May 12, 2010, 2:28 PM ET) -- Site Update Solutions LLC has accused 35 companies — including Target Corp., NBC Universal Inc., Adobe Systems Inc, Amazon.com Inc. and The Walt Disney Co. — of infringing a patent for registering websites on search engines.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, accuses a wide range of companies, from automakers to news services, of violating a patent covering a process for maintaining ongoing registrations on online search engines.
