Perkins Coie To Absorb IP Specialist Brown & Bain

Law360, New York (June 27, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- General-practice firm Perkins Coie will absorb Arizona-based intellectual-property firm Brown & Bain on July 1.

The merger will boost Perkins Coie's headcount by about 15% and increase its intellectual property practice by a quarter to a third, according to the firm.

The combined firm will have approximately 620 lawyers and 900 other employees in 15 offices, including two in China, and combined revenues of around $275 million.

Bob Giles, Perkins Coie managing partner, said the merger was a good fit for both companies.
