Amazon, Wal-Mart Sued Over Online Music Patent

Law360, New York (May 13, 2010, 1:28 PM EDT) -- A Texas-based company has sued Amazon.com Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Netflix Inc., accusing the companies of infringing a patent covering the online distribution of music and other media.

Longview, Texas-based Sharing Sound LLC filed a complaint against the companies Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Also named as defendants are Barnes & Noble Inc. and Gamestop Corp.
