Law360, New York (May 13, 2010, 2:53 PM ET) -- Spain's competition regulator has opened a formal investigation into a group of companies involved in the supply, distribution and sale of plastic containers for packing fruit and vegetable products, saying it has found evidence of anti-competitive practices.
The companies — Infia SpA; ILPA SRL (Divisione ILIP); Agroenvas SL; and Veripack Embalajes SL, which is owned by French packaging multinational Groupe Guillin SA — adopted price-fixing arrangements and divided up the market, including making fraudulent bids, Spain's National Competition Commission, or CNC, said Thursday.
