MonkeyMedia Targets Apple Over Software Patents

Law360, New York (May 14, 2010, 1:26 PM EDT) -- Technology company MonkeyMedia Inc. has sued Apple Inc., saying the company's operating systems and Safari Web browser infringe several patents that cover automated text summary software.

Mac OS X and Safari infringe three patents covering MonkeyMedia's text summary interface technology, MonkeyMedia said in a complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
