FlashPoint Hits Nokia, RIM With Imaging Patent Suit

Law360, New York (May 14, 2010, 4:09 PM EDT) -- Former Apple Inc. digital camera unit FlashPoint Technology Inc. has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to probe whether several smartphone manufacturers, including Nokia Corp. and Research In Motion Ltd., have infringed three digital imaging patents.

FlashPoint filed its complaint Thursday, accusing Nokia, RIM, HTC Corp., LG Electronics Inc. and several of their U.S. units of violating three patents that cover technology that allows users to manipulate digital images on the device that took them.
