Worker Wins $1M From National Union For Gas Injury

Law360, New York (May 14, 2010, 3:46 PM EDT) -- Natural gas is not an excluded pollutant under a National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa., commercial general liability policy, a Georgia appeals court has ruled, reversing a trial court decision that threw out a couple's attempt to collect $1 million from the insurer for a gas-related workplace injury.

The decision Tuesday by Judge G. Alan Blackburn in the Court of Appeals of Georgia paved the way for Brey and Katrina Barrett to seek payment under an excess policy issued to Atlanta Gas Light Co....
