Class Certified In Hydrogen Peroxide Antitrust Case

Law360, New York (January 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A judge on Friday granted class certification to a group of direct purchasers in the multidistrict litigation over an alleged hydrogen peroxide cartel.

The class certification brings together the claims of individuals and of state and local governments that directly purchased hydrogen peroxide from the alleged offenders between Sept. 14, 1994 and Jan. 31, 2005.

The end date is the day that the European Union brought down its landmark fine against hydrogen peroxide producers Akzo Nobel, Edison, FMC/Foret, Kemira, Snia, Solvay and Total/Elf Aquitaine/Arkema. The companies...
