Feds' Case Against Adelphia Execs In Jeopardy

Law360, New York (May 17, 2010, 3:15 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has found that the Pennsylvania conspiracy trial of two former Adelphia Communications Corp. executives accused of defrauding the United States could constitute a double jeopardy violation because the pair has already been convicted of conspiracy in New York.

In a 7-4 ruling Wednesday the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit remanded the conspiracy charge against Adelphia founder John Rigas and his son Timothy, affirming the same conclusion reached by a three-judge panel in the circuit in October.
