More Join Complaint Against U.S. Corn Subsidies

Law360, New York (January 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The protest against the United States’ allegedly illegal aid to its corn farmers has grown significantly louder, with 32 countries joining Canada in the dispute at the World Trade Organization.

Argentina, Brazil and Guatemala filed requests for consultation with the World Trade Organization last week, supporting Canada’s bid to investigate whether subsidies given to American corn farmers by the U.S. are depressing world corn prices.
