AuthenTec Fails To Unseal Sanctions Bid In IP Feud

Law360, New York (May 20, 2010, 6:04 PM EDT) -- Fingerprint security company UPEK Inc. can continue to file under seal confidential information related to anti-spoofing security measures in its bid for sanctions against defendant AuthenTec Inc. in an infringement dispute over several fingerprint technology patents, a federal judge has ruled.

Magistrate Judge Patricia V. Trumbull of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Monday mostly denied AuthenTec's motion to designate UPEK's Rule 11 sanctions motion nonconfidential.
