Liability Suit Over L'Oreal Self-Tanner Thrown Out

Law360, New York (May 25, 2010, 4:22 PM EDT) -- A Georgia appeals court has put the kibosh on a suit alleging L'Oreal USA Inc. failed to adequately warn consumers about the potential for adverse reactions to its self-tanning lotion.

On Friday, the Court of Appeals of Georgia, First Division, snuffed plaintiff Karen Mather’s bid to hold L'Oreal liable for a severe allergic reaction she had to the self-tanning lotion, finding that the defendant carried out sufficient tests on its product and did not have a duty to warn, given its established safety.
