Nikon Americas Exits PACid's Encryption Patent Suit

Law360, New York (May 26, 2010, 2:16 PM EDT) -- Nikon Americas Inc. is the first defendant to be cut loose from PACid Group LLC’s suit accusing Microsoft Corp. and more than a dozen other technology companies of infringing network encryption patents.

Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Monday granted PACid’s bid to voluntarily dismiss all claims against Nikon Americas without prejudice. Nikon Corp. and Nikon Inc. remain defendants in the case.
