'Raging Bull' Heir Appeals Loss In MGM Copyright Suit

Law360, New York (May 26, 2010, 1:32 PM EDT) -- The daughter of “Raging Bull” author Frank Petrella has appealed the dismissal of her copyright infringement suit against Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., in which a judge found that the two decades she waited to file suit amounted to an “unjustifiable delay.”

Paula Petrella lodged the notice of appeal Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, where Judge George H. Wu in February had granted the movie companies' motion for summary judgment on their defense of laches as to all of Petrella's claims....
