NMB Delays Rail, Airline Labor Rule Following Suit

Law360, New York (May 26, 2010, 6:10 PM EDT) -- The National Mediation Board has agreed to temporarily hold off on implementing a labor rule that will make it easier for rail and airline unions to organize.

The NMB agreed to stay the rule for 20 days at a status conference Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. A suit challenging the rule, which was set to go into effect June 10, was filed in May by the Air Transportation Association of America Inc., a group that represents airlines.
