Liberty Resolves Spat Over $12M Gen Re, SEC Deal

Law360, New York (May 27, 2010, 2:22 PM EDT) -- Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. has ironed out its dispute with Berkshire Hathaway Inc. subsidiary General Reinsurance Corp. over a $12.2 million settlement between Gen Re and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, agreeing to drop its claim for the cash.

Judge Loretta A. Preska signed an order and stipulation Thursday in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York approving the deal between Liberty Mutual and Gen Re and the SEC.
