Verizon Targeted In Interactive TV Patent Suit

Law360, New York (May 27, 2010, 1:27 PM EDT) -- Verizon Communications Inc. is facing a lawsuit alleging it has infringed five interactive television programming patents held by a Silicon Valley-based software company.

ActiveVideo Networks on Thursday lodged a suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia over Verizon’s FIOS system.

The plaintiff is a privately held company that provides a cloud-based platform that combines Web video, Web 2.0 functionality, on-demand and traditional TV to create an interactive system.
