WaMu Moves To Keep Examiner Spat Out Of 3rd Circ.

Law360, New York (May 28, 2010, 2:30 PM EDT) -- Washington Mutual Inc. is trying to stop the official committee of equity security holders from bypassing the district court when it appeals a bankruptcy judge's rejection of its request to appoint an independent examiner.

Shareholders — which under WaMu's current reorganization plan will not receive any distribution — want to appeal the case directly from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
