US Sued Over Cleanup Of Kansas Bomber Airbase

Law360, New York (May 28, 2010, 2:26 PM ET) -- The city of Salina, Kan., along with its airport authority and public school district and Kansas State University, has sued the federal government under the Superfund law to address hazardous waste at the former Schilling Air Force Base.

In a complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, the town claims that harmful chemicals at the retired base continue to leach into groundwater and soil on contiguous properties.
