Teva To Close Down Maligned Sedative Propofol

Law360, New York (May 28, 2010, 4:08 PM EDT) -- Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. is reportedly set to shut down production of propofol, the powerful anesthetic that came under heavy scrutiny after it was linked to the death of Michael Jackson.

Israel-based Teva did not give a reason for the discontinuance and said it would continue marketing doses of the drug that have already been manufactured, according to the Associated Press.
