Mega-T Maker To Pay $2.5M Over Diet Pill Claims

Law360, New York (June 2, 2010, 1:44 PM EDT) -- Health product maker CCA Industries Inc. has agreed to pay $2.5 million to settle a California class action accusing the company of making bogus claims that its popular Mega-T dietary supplement could lead to weight loss of as much as two pounds per week.

The East Rutherford, N.J.-based company said Friday that it had entered into a preliminary settlement, which was filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
