S3 Graphics Targets IPhone, IPad In 337 Complaint

Law360, New York (June 1, 2010, 5:50 PM EDT) -- S3 Graphics Co. has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to investigate whether Apple Inc.'s iPhone, iPad and other products infringe four patents covering image processing technology.

Fremont, Calif.-based S3G's complaint, lodged with the ITC on Friday, accuses Apple of importing products that infringe U.S. Patent Numbers 7,043,087; 6,775,417; 6,683,978; and 6,658,146.

The complaint specifically targets the iPhone, the iPad, the iPod touch, the MacBook and associated software, and accuses Apple of violating Section 337 of the Tariff Act.
