EEOC Case Against Sidley Austin Heats Up

Law360, New York (January 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission moved this week to force Sidley Austin LLP to hand over sensitive client-complaint documents, in an effort to prove that demotions at the law firm eight years ago were based on age discrimination.

In a motion filed Jan. 23, the EEOC asked the court to force the Chicago-based law firm to hand over all complaints filed with Sidley Austin by its clients between 1995 and 1999, including the nature of the complaints and who filed them.
