Sears, Fashion Retailers Agree To New Lead Limits

Law360, New York (June 3, 2010, 4:48 PM EDT) -- Sears Holdings Corp., Macy's Inc., Target Corp. and dozens of other major retailers and vendors have agreed to limit the amount of lead in handbags other accessories in a nearly $1.7 million settlement intended to set new industry standards for lead in fashion items.

The deal, approved on Tuesday by Judge Steven A. Brick in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of Alameda, puts to rest a suit by the Center for Environmental Health.
