Sens. Demand Progress On Chinese Trade Imbalances

Law360, New York (June 10, 2010, 3:15 PM EDT) -- Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on Thursday urged members of the Senate Finance Committee to wait and see if China would carry through on recent pledges to address trade policy imbalances, despite senators' mounting frustrations on everything from alleged currency manipulation to intellectual property theft.

Geithner cited “some progress” but “many challenges” still ahead in U.S. attempts to persuade China to correct issues in its economic and trade policies that lawmakers complain are killing jobs and manufacturing demand in their home states.
