Aso Slapped With Patent Suit Over Bandages

Law360, New York (June 8, 2010, 1:26 PM EDT) -- Aso Corp. has been accused of infringing a wound dressing patent held by a rival consumer first-aid products maker.

Longview, Texas-based Innoband Inc. lodged its suit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that Aso’s sale of bandages, including its Aso Qwik-Strip Adhesive Bandages, violates U.S. Patent Number 7,626,071.

The '071 patent, issued in December, covers an “invertible wound dressing and method of making same” and is the result of “pioneering research and development” conducted in the adhesive bandages area,...
