Merck Wins Stay In Colorado Vioxx Case

Law360, New York (January 29, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A federal judge has decided to stay all proceedings in a case brought by the State of Colorado against Merck & Co. Inc. that alleges the drug maker fraudulently induced the state to purchase the drug Vioxx.

Judge Wiley Y. Daniel of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado decided Wednesday that all proceedings should be stayed until the judicial panel on multidistrict litigation decides whether to transfer the case to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
