House Approves Electric Grid Security Upgrade

Law360, New York (June 10, 2010, 4:03 PM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives has approved legislation that would direct federal regulators to take measures to protect the nation's electric grid from cyberattacks and other security breaches.

The bill — known as the Grid Reliability and Infrastructure Defense Act, or GRID Act — passed Wednesday by a unanimous voice vote, and will now move on to the U.S. Senate.
