Class Certified In Calif. Health Worker Wage Dispute

Law360, New York (June 10, 2010, 6:39 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has certified a class of tens of thousands of plaintiffs in California who allege the state government violated federal law when it decided to reduce the wages of state workers who provide in-home medical care to low-income elderly and disabled residents.

Judge Claudia Wilken of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California issued the ruling Tuesday, about a year after the court granted the plaintiffs a preliminary injunction barring the state from lowering the wages.
