Ciba, Novartis Partly Dodge Contact Lens Injury Suit

Law360, New York (June 11, 2010, 7:17 PM ET) -- An Illinois man who alleges Ciba Vision Corp. and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. contact lenses injured his eyes has seen his amended complaint partially dismissed on preemption grounds.

Judge Rebecca R. Pallmeyer's ruling, issued Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, granted the defendants' motion to dismiss plaintiff Steven Kallal's claims related to premarket design and testing.
