Claims Pared In Mayer Brown Race Bias Suit

Law360, New York (June 11, 2010, 1:16 PM EDT) -- Mayer Brown LLP has won partial dismissal of a race bias suit brought by a former associate who says leaders at the firm’s Charlotte, N.C., office harassed and ultimately fired her for being black.

Former Mayer Brown real estate attorney Venus Y. Springs failed to show that alleged racial harassment was serious enough to constitute an abusive workplace, according to Judge Martin Reidinger of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina's order partly granting the firm’s dismissal motion.
