Claims Pared In Max Planck RNA Patent License Suit

Law360, New York (June 14, 2010, 5:07 PM EDT) -- The Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research and the University of Massachusetts have won a partial dismissal of the Max Planck Institute's lawsuit over the licensing of RNA interference patents, though a federal judge left breach of contract and other claims against the defendants intact.

Judge Patti B. Saris of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts narrowed the case against each of the defendants Friday, but stopped short of dismissing Max Planck's amended complaint in its entirety as Whitehead and UMass had requested....
