Objections To Ticketmaster Deal Lack Merit, DOJ Says

Law360, New York (June 21, 2010, 6:14 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has rejected objections by several concert promoters and club operators who oppose the $2.5 billion merger of Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc. and concert promoter Live Nation Inc., saying it remains certain that a proposed settlement resolves all of the antitrust issues in the deal.

Once the public comments objecting to the deal are published in the Federal Register in the coming days, the government will ask the court to give final approval to the settlement, the DOJ said in a filing Monday...
