Kagan Vows To Be Modest, Work Hard If Confirmed

Law360, New York (June 28, 2010, 7:46 PM EDT) -- As the U.S. Senate kicked off hearings on Solicitor General Elena Kagan's nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday, the high court hopeful promised to work hard, listen hard, and be fair-minded and modest if confirmed.

“I will listen hard, to every party before the court and to each of my colleagues,” Kagan pledged. “I will work hard. And I will do my best to consider every case impartially, modestly and with commitment to principle, and in accordance with law.”
