LML Sues Four Rivals Over Check Processing Patents

Law360, New York (July 14, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Canadian payment processor has sued four rivals for patent infringement in a dispute over systems that convert paper checks into electronic transactions.

LML Payment Systems said its intellectual property estate filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware against Telecheck Services Inc., Electronic Clearing House Inc., Xpresschex Inc. and Nova Information Systems Inc.

LML is seeking damages, injunctive and other relief for the alleged willful infringement of these patents.
