Law360, New York (June 22, 2010, 2:26 PM ET) -- Google Inc. and Twitter Inc. have asked an appellate court to overturn an injunction barring financial news website theflyonthewall.com from immediately repackaging original content from Barclays Capital Inc., Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. and Morgan Stanley & Co. Inc. for its online publication.
In a brief filed with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit Monday, the Internet giants argued that the district court's injunction "departs sharply from well-established precedent" by stopping Fly from publishing facts already in the public domain.
