Ohio High Court Upholds Limits On Pregnancy Leave

Law360, New York (June 23, 2010, 5:05 PM EDT) -- The Ohio Supreme Court has found that it is legal for employers to fire women for taking pregnancy-related leave if they have not met the minimum requirements to qualify for time off in the employers' leave policy.

In a 5-1 ruling, the state's highest court said Nursing Care Management of America Inc. did not commit sex discrimination under Ohio law when it fired Tiffany McFee for taking leave before she had been at the company 12 months.
