Pilots Union Loses Bid To Arbitrate Hiring Contract Fight

Law360, New York (June 24, 2010, 4:03 PM EDT) -- A pilots union may not use the Railway Labor Act to compel airline holding company U.S. Airways Group Inc. and three of its carriers into group arbitration, a federal appeals court has ruled, affirming the dismissal of a suit seeking arbitration in a fight over priority hiring contracts.
