NY Legislators OK Ban On BPA In Children's Products

Law360, New York (June 24, 2010, 2:36 PM EDT) -- The New York Legislature has unanimously passed legislation that would make the state the seventh in the U.S. to ban controversial chemical bisphenol A from certain toys and children’s products.

The bill — which would end the sale of BPA-based baby bottles, sippy cups, pacifiers and straws starting Dec. 1 — passed through the state Senate on Tuesday in a 61-0 vote, and passed through the State Assembly a day later in a 113-0 vote, according to advocates of the measure.
