Dominion Faces $11M Suit Over Power Plant Emissions

Law360, New York (June 25, 2010, 3:40 PM ET) -- A Boston-based environmental group has accused a Dominion Resources Inc. unit of repeatedly exceeding smokestack emissions limits at its Salem Harbor power plant in Massachusetts, arguing that the energy company should pay nearly $10.8 million in civil fines.

Conservation Law Foundation filed suit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, alleging that Dominion Energy New England Inc. should be held liable for willful and ongoing violations of Clean Air Act requirements on the density of soot emitted into the air.
