Law Firm Fails To Toss Name Partner's Contract Suit

Law360, New York (June 25, 2010, 2:34 PM EDT) -- A former name partner at Ohio-based Roth Bierman LLP has been given the green light for his suit alleging the firm and its partners failed to honor a $1.1 million agreement that settled previous litigation over the partner’s departure from the practice.

Judge James Gwin of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio refused to dismiss the complaint Wednesday, rejecting the defendants' arguments that the court lacked jurisdiction over the dispute because the amount in controversy was less than $75,000.
