Ameren Sues Insurer For $30M Over Taum Sauk Breach

Law360, New York (June 29, 2010, 2:41 PM EDT) -- A unit of energy company Ameren Corp. has sued its excess liability insurer, Energy Insurance Mutual Ltd., for allegedly holding back more than $30 million of payouts owed in connection with the Taum Sauk reservoir breach.

St. Louis-based Union Electric Co., which does business as AmerenUE, accused EIM of breach of contract and vexatious refusal to pay in a suit filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
