Airbus Ruling Stokes Flames As Trade Battle Rages

Law360, New York (July 1, 2010, 7:01 PM EDT) -- Although the U.S. and Boeing Co. are claiming victory over the World Trade Organization's recent Airbus SAS ruling, experts say the decision only continues a trade war that is likely to escalate when the WTO rules on U.S. subsidies for Boeing later this summer.

A WTO dispute resolution panel ruled Wednesday that subsidies paid to Airbus by the European Communities, France, Germany, Spain and the U.K. are inconsistent with WTO rules, marking a win for the U.S. and Boeing in the long-standing dispute.
