2 Key Senators Declare Support For Finance Bill

Law360, New York (July 2, 2010, 12:50 PM EDT) -- Sens. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., and Susan Collins, R-Maine, have announced their intention to support final passage of financial regulatory reform legislation, inching the bill closer to the 60-vote threshold needed to overcome a potential Republican filibuster in the Senate.

Cantwell said Thursday that she would switch her original vote against initial Senate passage of H.R. 4173, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, to support final passage of the bill when it comes up for a vote after the July 4 recess.
